The Towering Inferno Returns
Sebastian Fundora is fast becoming one of boxings biggest attractions.
He's taken a step beyond being a curiosity due to his 6"7 super-welterweight frame, in part thanks to his so far marquee win against fellow top 154 pounder Erickson Lubin back in April.
The "Towering Inferno" had to overcome adversity in being dropped for the first time in his career, before rallying to stop Lubin after rendering his face a bloody mess, capturing the WBC "interim" welterweight title in the process.
On Saturday night, he will try to consolidate his position as interim champion in a category that has Jermell Charlo as the undisputed champion.
A win against opponent Carlos Ocampo could take him a step closer to his goal of fighting for a full world title at 154 lbs.
Ocampo is seasoned, with 35 fights under his belt at only 26 years of age.
His only loss so far came to a certain Errol Spence Jr down at welterweight, where Spence ko'd him with a devastating body shot with only seconds to go in the first round.
Since then he's racked up 12 victories, 9 of which were inside the distance.
Albeit they were against relatively poor opposition, but there's no question that this is a different fighter to that that lost of pound for pound regular Spence Jr 5 years ago.
What to look for in the fight:
Inside fighting. Fundora may have a freakish 7-foot wingspan, but he doesn't like to use it and prefers to work at mid-to close range against opponents. Expect most of the fight to take part here.
Body shots. No one has had great success targeting Fundora to the body yet, but Ocampo should see this as his best path to victory. Look for him to slow down the onward charge of Fundora by targeting his midsection.
Eubank Jr vs Benn is OFF
The grudge match between generational rivals Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn has been officially postponed to an undisclosed date, following Conor Benn returning a positive test for a banned substance.
Despite the insistence from both the promoters and the Eubank Jr camp that they still wanted the fight to go ahead, Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing have announced that the fight will not be going ahead as planned.
Benn tested positive for clomifene, which is typically used as a female infertility drug, but is on the UK Anti Doping banned list of substances.
All undercard fights have also been rescheduled pending new dates.
The fight was scheduled to be at 157 lbs, with Eubank Jr coming down from 160 lbs and Benn moving up 10 lbs from weltwerweight.
Tank vs Ryan Imminent?
Whilst other fights fall through, it looks as if there are positive discussions underway for what would be one of the best fights to make in all of boxing.
Teddy gives his unmissable insights in the video below.
