Lara Aims To "Destroy" Josh Warrington Again
British fan favourite Josh Warrington had his sights firmly set on a US takeover before his clash with Mauricio Lara back in February of this year.
That American Dream quickly turned into a nightmare as he was dominated, dropped and eventually stopped by the 22 year old Mexican Lara, who launched himself into relevance at 126 lbs with an impressive 9th round KO.
Now, with 20,000 fans in attendance in Warrington's hometown of Leeds, he's going to be looking to right his wrongs and prove that the first time round was a fluke, avenging the only loss on his record thus far.
Lara however, is in a very confident mood ahead of the rematch:
I had just a month to prepare for the first fight. Now I've had four. The worst thing you can do is underestimate someone, particularly me.
Stylistically, Warrington will likely be more cautious than the first fight and look to stay out of trouble. But stirred on by the crowd, it'll probably regress back to the age old volume vs power battle that the first fight was.
And if that happens, it could end up being another upset on British soil.
The Return Of Darren Till 🦍
Middleweight top contender Darren Till returns to action this weekend as the Main Event of a UFC Fight Night, over a year since his close but ultimately unanimous decision loss to Robert Whittaker.
Once a rising star at welterweight, Till ultimately moved up following back to back losses and found a new home at 185 lbs, where he eventually encountered defeat once again in his 2nd fight at the weight, albeit in a VERY competitive fight against a former champion.
However, he's always captured the attention of the MMA faithful due to his larger than life personality, inspirational back story but most importantly, his undeniable talent.
Despite the losses, the talk of him vs Israel Adesanya has always intrigued, as both have labelled it a "super fight" for the UFC. But to get even a chance at that fight, he has to get through the red hot Derek Brunson, who hasn't put a foot wrong since losing to Adesanya himself back in 2018.
He has the wrestling base to cause Till problems on the mat, but whether he can get him and keep him there is a whole other question.
Fight ⏰ for this weekend
Boxing: Lara vs Warrington (Saturday 4th/Sunday 5th)
MMA: Till vs Brunson (Saturday 4th/Sunday 5th)
The Youtuber Circus Continues...
Teddy's Paul vs Woodley prediction came true in the end, but not exactly in the way he expected.
Jake Paul's retirement was seemingly short lived (a la McGregor), and a clash with Tyson Fury's younger half brother Tommy (also in action on the card) being eyed up.
